Most weddings involve at least a bride, a groom, a maid/matron of honor and a best man …and a minister or justice of the peace.
Do you remember your wedding day or a wedding in which you participated?
Save the date cards go out six months before the event, showers happen, plans get underway. Tickets are purchased. Church and rooms reserved for an event that was still way off…out there in the next time zone, beyond baseball season.
Then the months became weeks and all of a sudden the big event was next week!!!
IS everything ready? All the little details you said you’d get to. Will you have time? More importantly, will you remember? That funny panicky feeling sets in, even though 95% of what you needed to do is done...you still worry.
Enter your best buddy, be it maid of honor or best man. Their role was to be the wind beneath your wings. From a description of their respective “Job duties” comes the following:
“The maid/matron of honor is part worker bee, part emotional lifeboat. Chosen for her energetic, get-the-ball-in-motion qualities, she should also remember that listening to the bride, making her laugh, and offering emotional and logistical support is a vital role to play.”
“As best man, you may think you're just a glorified groomsman, but guess what? You actually have responsibilities -- you'll be a combination valet and hand-holder as you help the groom come through this nerve-wracking experience with flying colors. Make sure he gets to the church on time”
Despite all the anxious looks and butterflies in the stomachs, your wedding day went wonderfully well…memorable for sure!
Next Sunday is a big day for Florida Hospital Tampa as the switch will be thrown activating the new Electronic Medical Record and the Clinical Provider Order Entry system.
Not unlike a wedding day, each of you will be taking a vow to the new order of patient care, pledging for better or worse to tend to the needs of your patient and each other the best possible way.
For the big day to go well you need a best buddy! Thankfully we have many official best buddies in our super users and AHS iConnect team. You may feel even more secure taking a moment this week to let one of them know how good it feels to have a best buddy by your side!
Your big day will go well! Look at how well Florida Hospital Carrollwood’s, Florida Hospital North Pinellas' and Florida Hospital LTAC’s day went!
